The recessed oval area has depictions of the sanctuaries at Mecca, Medina and Jerusalem. The paintings are signed, tersim al-‘abd Fakhri fi dar al-saltanah Qustantiniyyah (‘painted by the servant [of God] Fakhri in the Abode of the Sultanate, Constantinople’).
