The inlaid decoration is restricted to the lid and upper vase. This includes a finely drawn benedictory inscription in naskh at the rim and two inscription cartouches below in stylized Kufic, all inlaid in silver and chased. A finial in the form of a bird flapping its wings surmounts the eight-lobed lid.
