Monumental cloisonné enamel vase on stand. Originally part of a three piece garniture executed for the Worlds Columbian Exhibition, Chicago 1893. The front depicting a dragon and gushing waves, verso with plovers circling over waves with the bright moon to the left, rising on a lacquer and relief carved wood octagonal base. Manufacture was undertaken by Mr. Shirozayemon Suzuki, of Yokohama, with the co-operation of Mr. Seizayemon Tsunekawa, at Nagoya..
