Location: Sweden, Scania, Ingelstads district
Materials: interlocked tapestry
Dimensions: 58 x 94 cm
Accession Number: SW 34
Other Notes:
Comparison of this tapestry with SW 15 demonstrates not only the strength of the tradition, seen in the similarities, but also the freedom for individual expression, seen in the different styles of drawing and the use of alternative ornaments. The most obvious of these is the addition of the women in the central stars, while the other stars retain the birds. This tapestry includes some fine details such as the rows of dots on the skirt of the central woman.
