During a period of discord between Egypt and Saudi Arabia, when Egypt stopped sending the kiswah to Mecca, King ‘Abdul ‘Aziz bin ‘Abd al-Rahman ordered the kiswah to be made in Mecca. The inscription within the upper section mentions that the belt was made in Mecca during his reign.
