The neck, which is in two sections and screws into the globular body, is set with foiled diamonds, mostly table-cut, on a ground of green translucent enamel. In contrast to its rich enamelling and jewelled encrustation, the body is undecorated, most probably because it was made to be plunged into ice or snow to cool the contents.
