At the centre of the seal is, ‘Piri (?), a slave of Sultan Murad’; around it is a Persian couplet. The bezel bears a benedictory text in Persian, and on its underside, in square Kufic (negative) and repeated twice, ‘Ya, Ya ‘Ali’.
