Honouring Peace and Unity: A Historic Commonwealth Day Celebration

At last night’s Commonwealth Day reception, we were deeply honoured to welcome His Majesty King Charles III and Her Majesty The Queen.

A defining moment of the evening was the inaugural Commonwealth Peace Prize, awarded to Rev. Dr. James Movel Wuye and Imam Dr. Muhammad Nurayn Ashafa for their unwavering dedication to peacebuilding. Presented by the Right Honourable Patricia Scotland and our Chairman and Founder, Professor Sir Nasser D. Khalili, the award celebrates those advancing peace across the Commonwealth.

The evening was further elevated by the debut of Love in Peace, a powerful composition by Andrew Lloyd Webber, with lyrics by Ben Elton and Bruno Major, performed by talented singers from The BRIT School and The Queen’s College Choir, Oxford.

An unforgettable celebration of unity, hope, and the transformative power of peace. 🌍✨
