The lamp stands have a bell-shaped base and a shaft with horizontal ribs, surmounted by a nine-spouted lamp with a stylized lotus bud at the centre. They have important features in common with a bronze oil lamp attributed to a workshop in Bengal, presented by the Mughal emperor Akbar to the shrine of Shaykh Mu‘in al-Din Chishti at Ajmer in Rajasthan.
